Mindy has been in the Cambridge area for most of her life. She grew up with horses, showing American Saddlebreds across the country. Mindy and her husband Sam, have one son, Cole. They spend their free time with Cole on the golf course. If they are not out golfing, they can be found camping and boating with friends. The family enjoys cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

 

Mindy has been with the agency for over 29 years and became agency owner in 2020. She is able to write business in personal lines, commercial lines and life and disability insurance. She enjoys working with clients to help assess their needs and come up with a plan to find the right coverage.

Laura grew up in Caldwell, Ohio and moved to the Cambridge area in 1999. She and her husband Ben have 3 children; Alycin, Levi and Eva.

Laura is newly licensed and is eager to serve you with your insurance needs!

Shannon moved to Cambridge from Myrtle Beach, SC. She is a licensed agent with over 7 years of experience. 

Together with her husband Steve, they share three children, Parker, Payton and Saydee. 

Deb Brown joined Shafer Insurance Agency in October, 2025 bringing with her a deep commitment to community, family, friends, and the values that made small-town life meaningful.

Outside the agency, Deb owns and operates Log Cabin Stables in New Concord where she raises mini ponies and has even rehabbed a retired thoroughbred. Her passion for animals and hands-on care reflects the same patience, committment, and heart she brings to work at Shafer Insurance Agency.
